Justifying prohibitive odds of 1/7, Good N' Kind made all in the opener at Cork this afternoon, the Fitzgeralds Woodlands House Hotel & Spa Adare Maiden Hurdle.

The winner of a point-to-point at Dromahane when in the care of Colin Motherway and a runner-up on his first two starts for current connections, the Arctic Cosmos bay was widely expected to deliver.

Sent straight to the front by Mike O'Connor, the Henry de Bromhead-trained six-year-old was awkward over three out and was ridden away from the next.

Pressed by 125/1 outsider Bitofajokelike approaching the final flight, he needed to be kept up to his work on the run-in, seeing off that rival by a length and a quarter.

There was a 23-length gap back to 150/1 chance Rilo Tang in third, while Qaasid the second choice of punters at 11/1, was a never involved ninth.

"We thought the longer trip would bring about improvement in him but I had to work for it," O'Connor said of the Robcour-owned victor.

"His maiden hurdle in Limerick has worked out very well so we were just hoping for a nice round of jumping today.

"He had a few novicey jumps towards the finish but as a whole he was very good and I think all he wants to do is jump (fences)."
