Point-to-point winner Lady Doyanne made an immediate impact on her Rules debut when staying on nicely under Darragh O'Keeffe to win the opening Think Print & Design Maiden Hurdle at Wexford.
Sent off 6/4f, the Henry De Bromhead trained mare was always prominent, before closing up on long time leader Kara De Thaix after jumping three out.
Pushed along to lead at the penultimate flight, the daughter of Doyen was ridden to extend her advantage after the last.
With Kara De Thaix having no more to offer close home, the Willie Mullins trained mare was passed for second by the fast finishing 50/1 outsider The Monkey Pole
However, Lady Doyanne had enough in hand to hold on for a narrow half-length success.
Darragh O’Keeffe said: “She jumped great and travelled into the race well. She’ll come on from the run.
“She won her point-to-point on good ground and had been doing things nicely at home. Hopefully the owners will have a bit of fun with her.
“There is quite a stiff headwind in the straight and they got a bit of rain last night but in fairness it is lovely ground.”https://www.irishracing.com/news/Lady-Doyanne-makes-winning-Rules-debut-for-De-Bromhead-/258440
